Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, OnlineVisas has continued to thrive, growing to an all-time high in its nearly 30-year history. This success is a testament to Jon’s vision to revolutionize and disrupt the legal industry, as well as the hard work and dedication of the entire OnlineVisas team. OnlineVisas’ CEO Jon Velie is a visionary with deep roots. His great grandfather Abraham Rockmore was an Immigration Attorney over 100 years ago. Abe’s passion was to help displaced Jews to escape the nightmare of the Holocaust coming to America. He was one of the original immigration attorneys, practicing during the days when lawyers had to petition in front of congress to some petitions approved. He spoke to Congress about amending the Naturalization Act in 1940 as one of his many efforts to bring foreign nationals to America.

In 1998, Jon bought the domain for OnlineVisas.com with a vision honed over years. It started as an award winning marketing tool that drove business to the firm, But in 2016, the mission to build highly successful brief based visas quickly became a reality. In 2002, Jon and his firm were hailed as innovators in the legal industry by the American Bar Association (ABA). They won the ABA’s Legal Access to Justice Award that year and were featured in the ABA’s White Paper.

His vision to revolutionize and disrupt the legal industry won Velie Law using OnlineVisas the Golden Stevie (International Business Award) for Legal Services in Paris in 2017 and the Business Excellence Award for best overall small business in 2014.

Jon started practicing Immigration in 1993. He obtained the first Green Card for a professional rugby player in American history in 1994. Velie Law Firm represents athletes and coaches in over 50 sports and Jon has spoken at the Sports Lawyers Association Annual conference for over a decade.

Velie Law’s diverse practice handles a wide array of business Immigration from high volume H-1Bs and PERMs for hundreds of US Companies owned by Indian Immigrants, extraordinary innovators in the Bay Area, Japanese corporate investors, entertainers, Fortune 500s and companies and their owners who want to establish US operations under the L-1, E-2, IEP and EB-5.

Jon’s background as a litigator including the Cherokee and Seminole Freedman cases and three others that he briefed to the U.S. Supreme Court. Winning over a half a million-dollar judgment against a US agency for EEOC violations. These experiences helped him adopt a briefing style for Immigration that provides a higher approval rate than standard cover letters.

This strategy identifies issues that the USCIS commonly targets and addresses them upfront, with answers supported by authority ranging from regulations to memos to field adjudicator manuals, AAO or BALCA decisions and Federal case law.

For years Velie Law would proclaim it did more work than any firm. Today OnlineVisas delivers authority supported winning strategies through its Visas.AI platform so that its community of lawyers can quickly create powerful briefs that effectively answer potential RFE questions upfront.

The knowledge in the winning strategies does not just appear in the briefs, it is first provided in the strategy component.

How we work at Visas.AI

Jon and his team of lawyers have developed a pioneering method that has enhanced and expanded his practice across the country and around the world - a method that you can now use! While other practices have lagged behind during the pandemic, Velie Law has achieved its highest growth yet seen during it's nearly 30-year history.

Using Zoom or another video conferencing tool, Jon and his lawyers shared their screens to the Visas.AI platform and collaborated with clients to determine the best visa option and select the strategy session from about 40 types of visas.
The system guided them through the important questions and recommended notes, hints, examples and winning strategies to answer them.
Their clients have access to the questions and notes. They advised them to obtain docs or gave them advice on how to meet the criteria if they did not.
They built contracts instantly in front of them and send with a payment link instantly. Fees were deposited into their Trust account.
Once they paid they converted the prospects from leads to client petitions. Clients uploaded docs and filled in questions not answered by the data in the documents.
The legal team spread from the office to their homes both near and far, built the forms, briefs and numerous other documents needed like expert letters, employment letters, contracts etc.
They assembled and submitted. If USCIS kicks it back with an RFE, it gathered them as well all it had received over the facades and fed it into its AI engine to suggest answers from its ever-growing database of knowledge garnered from the ever growing database of OnlineVisas community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help Immigration Attorneys become better and faster with the assistance of Artificial-Intelligence, not replace them.

Our Goal

We Deliver Dreams. When asked what we do, we could say, we fill in forms for disinterested government adjudicators, which may be true. But behind each form is a person with a dream of changing their life and coming to America or another country and having success. The Visas.AI platform helps Immigration attorneys deliver these dreams for their clients.

We all know the feeling it gives our clients when they receive their visa because it is so much more than a piece of paper. It is a ticket to their dream.
