One of the excellent attributes of the VisasAI is that it organizes all your required visa documents in one place. However, you’ll still need to assemble these items and upload them to the system. Here is a basic list of required documents for your H-1B visa petition.

What Are The Required Documents?

Job Offer Letter

The offer letter should provide a full description of your position, duties, benefits, and salary, along with you job title, department, and start date. Any verbal agreements between you and your employer should be documented in the offer letter.

“A job offer letter for immigrants is a document that describes the employer’s intent to hire an immigrant for a specific position. It outlines the duties, duration of employment, and benefits of the job. The document must also include information about salary, applicable laws and regulations, as well as any other conditions related to the employment agreement. The document may also include a section on reporting requirements and job certification requirements. Additionally, it could discuss any applicable deductions or withholdings that may be associated with the immigrant employee’s wages.”

Current Resume

Your resume should include your full name and contact details, but other personal information should be kept to a minimum. While there may be certain elements that immigrants will need to include on their resume in order to be offered a job, generally speaking, an immigrant’s resume should follow the same principles as a U.S. citizen’s resume – it should clearly demonstrate the individual’s experience, skills, and qualifications.

As such, immigrants should make sure they include details such as past job titles, employers’ names and locations, relevant education or training programs completed and any special certifications or licenses they may have obtained. While it is important to also include information about any volunteer work you might have done and extracurricular activities you’ve been involved in that are related the open position, you should ensure the focus is your professional experience first and foremost.

Proofread

Specify your salary expectations. Do not disclose confidential information, provide false statements, or oversell yourself with verbose language. It is important to double-check that all information on the document is accurate and up-to-date, as errors can lead to delays in processing or, in some cases, rejection of the application. Additionally, proofreading allows you to spot any grammar or spelling mistakes that could make a document appear unprofessional and reduce your chances of getting hired.

Copy Of Passport

A copy of your current, unexpired, passport with a photo. Having an unexpired passport is essential for immigrants, as it is a document that is required for entering and exiting the country. It also serves as a form of identification for any official interactions with authorities, such as open bank accounts or rent apartments. Finally, an unexpired passport can be used to provide proof of citizenship when applying for jobs or other benefits.

Copies Of Degree Certificates And Transcripts

Provide copies of all official degree certificates and university transcripts. If documents are from non-English speaking universities, provide an official translation and affidavit of translation. Foreign degrees may also require an education evaluation to show that they are equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.

Employment Reference Letters From Previous Employers

These letters are known as Experience verification letters and show progressive experience in the area of the H-1B specialty. They may be required if the person has no college education, has a “bachelor’s” diploma but less than 4 years of secondary education, has related coursework but no degree in the field, or has a bachelor’s degree in another field.

Professional license (if applicable)

If you have any professional licenses you’ll need to provide copies. This demonstrates that you have the required skill set and qualifications for the position they are applying for. It also proves to employers that they have the correct level of expertise, which is essential in order to legally work in the U.S. under an H-1B Visa. Providing a professional license is not necessary to be approved for an H-1B but the provided evidence would make a petitioners case stronger.

Copies Of Any Professional Development Course Certificates (if applicable)

If you have taken any professional development courses and received certificates you’ll need to provide a copy. Certificates provides similar advantages to license with the main difference being that a certificates is verified by a professional and a license is verified by a government agency. Furthermore, similarly to a professional license it’s not a required document but is preferred if the petitioner has one.

Copy of your education evaluation (if applicable)

If your degree is not from a U.S. college or university, you’ll need to have an education evaluation completed and provide a copy. Again similarly to a professional license and a professional certificate it’s not a required document but is preferred if the petitioner has one.

Translation and translation affidavit (if previous documents not in English)
